One year ago, LOGIC Solutions Group looked toward 2020 with enthusiasm, earnest to usher in a new decade after a nice recovery from the shale downtown of 2014-2015. Our confidence bolstered by a solid 2019, we scoffed at the possibility of a travel lockdown due to COVID-19 in early March. Reality hit shortly thereafter with the shock of negative oil prices, so we settled in and got to work – from home.
One of our first, and possibly best, initiatives this year involved teaming up with our sister company, Indigo Beam, to deliver the Harris County Public Health 2019 Novel Coronavirus dashboard. The website is a nice showcase of GIS and big data coming together to deliver information to those who need it most…like the entire population of Harris County and the City of Houston.
The project provided momentum for the rest of the year and prepared us to handle the electoral follies. We even had the opportunity to mobilize our remote team and deliver the LOGIC Layer Exporter Widget to the Esri Marketplace. The widget is available free to download, as our way of acknowledging that any wins of 2020 should be shared with our fellow GIS friends.
It has been a wild year, but now it is time to prepare for 2021. Thank you for the business opportunities presented and your continued support. Let’s hope 2021 is boring compared to 2020.
